April 8, 2008 - Southbridge Savings Bank is proud to acknowledge one of its own, Sheila Veideman, as one of the recent recipients of the Girl Scouts of Central and Western Massachusetts 2008 Women of Distinction. This prestigious award is given to women in the local communities that exemplify what the Girl Scouts stand for. The award recognizes exceptional role models who show dedication to their profession while exceeding the expectations of their positions. It also acknowledges women who are inspirations to co-workers as well as those around them and who also make contributions to their local community. Sheila is the Assistant Vice President, Senior Branch Manager at the West Boylston Street branch in Worcester. She received this honor based on her exceptional customer service skills and her ability to lead through encouraging words and a positive attitude. Her devotion to the local schools, teaching fiscal responsibility and banking security is yet another reason Sheila is so deserving of this award. Sheila is the treasurer for the French River Connection as well as an active member of the Worcester Chamber of Commerce. Sheila also participates in events held by the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians, which links Sheila to her Irish origin. As a Woman of Distinction, Sheila exemplifies her own life motto, which is to serve others.
"We are very proud of Sheila's accomplishment", stated Jill Motyka, Southbridge Savings Bank Marketing Manager and lifetime Girl Scout. "Sheila is a great asset to our organization and we are very pleased to see her recognized with such an esteemed award."
