New Southbridge Savings Bank Location at West Boylston Street. Worcester Embodies Progressive Attitude

May, 2006 - Over the past decade Southbridge Savings Bank
has known considerable growth, which includes both eastern and western
expansion from their core market in Southbridge. They opened their
first Worcester branch in 1998 at the former Shaw’s Supermarket
at Gold Star Blvd. Since that time they have opened a second branch
at the Big Y Supermarket on May Street.
“We have really enjoyed working with customers in the Worcester
market”, commented Philip Pettinelli, President and CEO of Southbridge
Savings Bank, “The community has been very supportive of the
Bank and really enjoys our small town service and personal attention”.
In 2005, after the Shaw’s Supermarket moved to it’s new
location, Southbridge Savings Bank took up residence in their adjacent,
temporary location on Ruthven Avenue. Since that time plans have been
made to move the branch to it’s final location, just down the
street. The new branch will be located at the corner of Ruthven Ave.
and West Boylston Street. Masiello Construction Co. has been awarded
the new contract to build the Southbridge Savings Bank Branch. The
Architect for the project is DRL Associates, Inc. of Weymouth, Massachusetts.
The branch will be a full service location offering traditional banking,
an on-site commercial representative as well as an on-site investment
representative. In addition the new branch will include many technologically
advanced additions such as an internet kiosk and a waiting area complete
with high tech plasma screen television and coffee bar.
“We truly can’t wait for the new branch to be opened this
fall. Our customers tell us that they can’t wait either”,
stated Mr. Pettinelli, “The new branch is a true indication
of our commitment to the Worcester community.”
