April, 2007 –Founded in 1972, Rainbow Child Development Center is a licensed, not-for-profit organization that works collaboratively in the Worcester community to provide education and therapeutic services to children and families in a safe and nurturing environment. At Rainbow children learn and grow to reach their individual potential, and families receive encouragement and services to support their children's development. Rainbow Child Development Center provides care, education, and therapeutic services to over 290 children -- ages 6 weeks to 13 years -- from families in the Worcester area.

The center had a playground on their original location on Laurel St.  They then purchased the location on Edward’s Street in 2003 and had a need to move the playground to this new location.  Southbridge Savings Bank donated $1,000 to help cover the expense of moving the center’s playground.  “Southbridge Savings Bank is committed to assisting programs such as this one”, stated Philip Pettinelli, President and CEO of Southbridge Savings Bank. “We welcome the opportunity to support worthwhile projects and organizations in the communities that our twelve branches serve.”
